A Cleaner Home

The idea of a keeping a clean and toxin-free home can be a daunting thought. Change is difficult, especially when we allow our thoughts to discourage us.

"I don't have the time to make anything from scratch..."

"I can't afford all of those fancy cleaners..."

"I want a safer home, but I just don't know where to start...."

Fortunately, there is an easy solution:

Just do what you can!

Little Changes You Can Make

No, you don't have to immediately throw out all of your chemical-based products or run to the store to purchase matching bottles like those Influencers you follow.

Start by using up what you have at home first. When you run out, that is your opportunity to restock. Focus on making one micro-change at a time and work towards slowly transitioning yourself into a cleaner and happier lifestyle. There is no "right way" to do this. â€‹

Storage

My absolute favorite way of storing ingredients and cleaning products is by using mason jars. These glass containers come in all shapes and sizes. Mason jars can also prevent or prolong spoilage through a number of methods including water-baths, pressure canning or using an air-sealer. This ensures products stay fresh, saving a lot of money and trips to the grocery store.

I would start with purchasing about 3-5 glass jars and expanding from there. You can find these at most general stores including Target and Walmart. To be extra sustainable, I suggest going to your local resale shop or asking friends or family if they have extras.
