Goo-Gone

This all-natural homemade Goo Gone is a safe and effective solution for removing sticky residues, labels, and grime. Made with a simple blend of oil (like coconut or olive oil), baking soda, and a few drops of essential oil (such as lemon or orange), it combines the scrubbing power of baking soda with the grease-cutting action of oil. The essential oil adds a fresh, clean scent while boosting cleaning strength. Gentle on surfaces but tough on messes, it’s a non-toxic, eco-friendly alternative to commercial adhesive removers.

Goo-Gone

Ingredients

2 cups - Baking Soda

1 cup - Oil (I used olive oil, but you can use canola, vegetable, avocado or coconut oil)

2 tsp - Dish Soap

20 Drops of Essential Oils (I used lemon and orange essential oils)

Directions

  1. In a glass mason jar or small bowl, mix together baking soda, oil, dish soap and essential oils.

  2. Stir with a spatula ensuring all clumps of baking soda have been picked up. Mix well. (The mixture should turn into a smooth thick paste).

  3. Seal tightly and store in a dark location.

HOW TO USE:

  1. Remove any stickers or labels from your containers.

  2. Spread the Homemade Goo-Gone generously around the residue you wish to remove.

  3. Leave the goo on for 12-15 minutes.

  4. With a sponge or an abrasive brush, scrub the area and was thoroughly. Repeat step if necessary.
